Free AVG Antivirus Protection for Your Computer
Since I have worked in the computer field for the past 10 years I feel guilty that this wasn’t one of my first posts on this site. I recommend a lot of techniques to help you financially on this site, including setting up accounts and budgeting. However, it is wise to make sure your computer is not infected with a virus or trojan that may be stealing your information while doing this. If you feel you may be infected or have no idea, have no fear this post is here! (Wow, that was corny.)
Today I am going to recommend a “free” anti-virus product that you can download and install on your home computer. Although there is a pay version of this antivirus product, the free version will work for most basic users. However, check out the other versions and if there are additions you think may benefit you, feel free to upgrade.
Since I work with computers on a daily basis, I work with many friends and family members computers. The one thing I often come across is the lack of anti-virus and spyware protection. The risks are out there and are growing everyday. Your computer may be infected right now and it is possible you would not see any symptoms that would alert you. At this moment information contained in what you type, look at, or saved on your computer may be recorded and sent to a remote computer for others to see. If you are running your computer without protection you need to get anti-virus and anti-spyware installed as soon as possible.
There are several products available from big vendors such as Symantec, McAffee and TrendMicro. I have used products from each of those vendors, but for a basic home user I would recommend AVG antivirus from Grisoft. AVG free anti-virus can be downloaded from the AVG Grisoft website. Once installed, the program will update to the newest spyware and anti-virus definitions, which will protect you from the latest threats. If your computer is currently unprotected, I recommend you immediately install some sort of anti-virus protection and AVG for windows is a great place to start. If you are currently running free avg 7 0 antivirus, go ahead and upgrade to avg 8.0.
Download it, install it, update it, then run a scan of your computer. You may be surprised at what you find. As always if you have any questions, go ahead and leave a comment or send me an email. I am always happy to help.
If you’ve been asking “Where can I get a free antivirus for my computer?” I recommend you Download free AVG protection.
