Are Your Firefox Youtube Videos Stopping?

Are your Firefox Youtube videos stopping? If so it is most likely an issue with the flash plugin that Firefox is using. Over the past several weeks I started experiencing the pausing issue along with a number of friends. As soon as I visited a Youtube page in Firefox, the video would start to play for a few seconds but then the firefox youtube would stop playing. The rest of the page was fine. The video would load but the Youtube video would pause.

Since I have been working in the computer field for the past 10 years or so, I am the first guy most of my friends and relatives reach out to when they have computer issues. Lately I have been receiving an increasing number of emails from friends claiming their youtube is “broken in Firefox“. After experiencing the issue myself and looking into it I was able to narrow it down to the adobe flash plugin. Adobe offers an uninstaller on their site. I used the uninstaller to uninstall my current flash plugin. I then closed and reopened Firefox. On my next visit to a Youtube page I was prompted to install the flash plugin in order to see the youtube videos. After installing the plugin and doing a restart of Firefox, Youtube videos no longer paused, or stopped and everything was back to normal.
