Rio Hotel in Las Vegas Suite

I just returned from Las Vegas and tried the previously mentioned secret hotel discount aka the $20 front desk tip without success. I arrived at the hotel about 3:00pm in the afternoon and was greeted by a female in her late 20’s. I slid the $20 dollars to her between my drivers license and credit card. I asked if there were any “complimentary upgrades“. She told me they didn’t have any and slid my $20 back to me. Interestingly though she did tell me that sometimes they have them, but since the World Series of Poker was in town there weren’t any available this time. Based on that, I will try this again in the future. Hopefully, my next vacation will not coincide with any gambling tournaments or big Las Vegas conventions.
