Cheapskate has tips for saving $20,000 a year

Here is an interesting article that was on CNN today, with some tips on saving money.  The tips include getting rid of your cell phone, saving on clothes and not eating out.  Most of it is basic stuff, that most people budgeting are already aware of.  I’m not sure if it is possible to save 20k a year from the suggestions listed but it is an interesting read none the less.

You can read the Cheapskate tips for saving here.

  1. We met Jeff when he was cycling into Arizona from California and had neglected to reserve a hotel room. We brought him up to our room where he got a shower and offered to let him sleep in our car. He’s a very delightful and informative man. In the end he got his own hotel room instead of sleeping in the car — sometimes you have to give up the cheapest way and enjoy life! But he does have lots of good points and lives by them himself.

  2. Carol,

Thanks for the story about Jeff. I had not read much about or from him prior to this CNN article. I’ll have to check out some of his other tips.

    Eric
