School Dream

The professor walks through the classroom door, walks to the front of the class and asks everyone to take out their blue books. I look to both sides of me and watch as everyone puts their books under their desks and pulls out their blue books for the test. I lean to the side and ask the person to the right of me in an unsure tone “we have a test today?” I never seem to remember much after asking the question.

The previous dream is a recurring dream I have been having for many years now. I have been out of school for some time, but I am still haunted by this dream or should I say nightmare. I can’t remember one time in school where I wasn’t aware of a test, aside from the famous pop quiz. But still, I can’t seem to shake this dream which seems to reappear a handful of times each year.

The dream is so lifelike that I feel a great joy when I wake up and realize I was just dreaming. It’s like the feeling of winning something, without winning it. Not sure that makes sense…

Does anyone else have the school dream, or some other dream they just can’t shake? I can’t be the only one, can I?
