Certified Traffic School Online

Recently I was pulled over on the way to work and given a citation for “following too close”. If you were able to see the snail pace the freeway was moving at when I received this ticket, it is almost comical. I would have loved to fight the ticket, but with the time I would lose from work along with the chance of me successfully getting the ticket dropped, I decided to attend traffic school.

I have been driving for 16 years and this is only my second ticket I have received. The first one came my first year of driving and at the time I attended Comedy traffic school. I found it somewhat amusing, but I dreaded having to sit in that class for 8 hours on my Saturday.

After receiving my latest ticket I decided to look for a certified traffic school online. I had heard about online traffic schools in California before but had never looked into them since there wasn’t a need. From what I had heard you read some material on a website and then were presented with several online traffic school questions. It sounded easy enough, besides, I figured if I got stuck I always had Google to help with online traffic school.

After doing my research I came across GoToTrafficSchool. The site asked for my the State, County and Courthouse listed on my ticket. I was then offered several online traffic school prices. I chose the basic option which was offered in both English and Spanish and it cost $13.50. This was cheaper than what I expected. The information provided advised me that I was required to spend 6 hours and 40 minutes in the course and this would be kept track of by the website. I was able to log in whenever I wanted and my progress was tracked so that I could long in and continue later. This allowed me to set my own schedule and not have to waste my whole Saturday like my previous ticket.

The course consisted of reading several sections on different traffic rules and then answering two brief questions at the end of each section. There was no penalty for missing any of the questions. At the end of the 6 hour and 40 minute course, I was given a final exam. The exam consisted of all the review questions from each section along with a few others thrown in. I did not find the questions hard or tricky like you may expect from some exams. In order to pass the online exam you must get 80% of the test correct. If you do not hit 80% you can retake the exam as many times as needed at no additional charge.

After completion of the course my “certificate of completion” was mailed within 24hrs to the court I chose when signing up. I was able to choose the shipping method and opted for the basic option at no further cost since I had plenty of time before I was required to complete my traffic school. If you are approaching your deadline you may want to opt for one of the quicker methods.

Overall GoToTrafficSchool was a great experience. I hope I do not receive anymore tickets in the future, but if I do I would use them again.
